This old-fashioned handmade cinnamon ornament is one tradition your family will love. It’s so simple to make with just cinnamon and applesauce, plus it leaves your home smelling delightful.

  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1.5 cups cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees and line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix together one cup of applesauce and 1.5 cups of cinnamon (& cloves, if using).
  • Prepare your surface and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Place cinnamon dough on prepped surface, use rolling pin to flatten dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Cut out desired shapes.
  • Place ornaments onto parchment paper.
  • Use a skewer to poke holes for your string.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15.-2 hours. Flip ornaments 1/2 way through.
  • Allow to cool and then attach string at desired length.

*Thicker and larger ornaments will take longer to bake. Please remove smaller ornaments from the oven to prevent burning.
