San Antonio Pumpkin Patches: A Cozy Fall Guide
Discover the best San Antonio pumpkin patches with this cozy fall guide, family favorites, local tips, and festive fun for every age.

I’ve always been smitten with fall, the cozy colors, the golden light, and the way everything feels just a little more magical.
But here in Texas, we don’t exactly get that crisp autumn weather or the beautiful fall leaf coloring like some areas.
The leaves stay mostly green and the air still feels like summer. I read recently that our average temperature doesn’t dip below 80 until late October, which makes it even harder to catch those fall vibes.
Today I’m sharing a full rundown of our family’s favorite pumpkin patches, a few that are on our must-visit list, and others highly recommended by local friends, so you can plan your own cozy fall adventure, even when the Texas heat lingers.
Pumpkin Patches in San Antonio
Bracken UMC Pumpkin Patch
Bracken was the very first pumpkin patch I visited after moving to San Antonio, and it quickly became a favorite. Back in 2017 I asked for local recommendations on Facebook, and the overwhelming response was “Bracken Pumpkin Patch!” and it did not disappoint.
This patch is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, with plenty of space to roam and a handful of sweet activities set up just for little ones. There’s even a short tractor ride that always gets big smiles. Over the years we’ve returned many times, both for family outings and with mom-day-out groups, and every visit has that same welcoming, small-town charm that makes fall feel special.
Bracken Pumpkin Patch opens Oct 4th for the weekend, but then is open daily starting October 10.
Price: Bracken Pumpkin Patch is free to explore and you only pay for the pumpkins you take home.

Universal City Pumpkin Patch
Another San Antonio favorite for our family is the Universal City Pumpkin Patch. When we lived nearby, it became an October tradition, we’d make several visits throughout the month just to soak in the fall vibes.
One of the things I love most is that the patch partners with different local organizations, donating proceeds to a new cause each day. It makes every visit feel like you’re giving back while enjoying the season. One year, our kids’ school even performed there, which made it extra memorable.
The patch is loaded with pumpkins in every shape and size, offers a few cute photo ops, and has simple activities to keep the kids entertained while you pick the perfect pumpkin.
The pumpkin patch opens Oct 4th for the season. If you happen to stop by on the very last day, you might score a deal, we once came home with wagons full of pumpkins at a fraction of the price, and the kids thought it was the best thing ever and our chickens at the time loved the special treat!
Price: You can wander the Universal City pumpkin patch for free and only pay if you grab a pumpkin to bring back.
St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church
Opening October 11, 2025, this welcoming patch is open seven days a week with free admission. Every pumpkin purchase supports the church, its school, and local outreach programs. Mark your calendar for their Fall Festival on October 25, a community favorite featuring trunk-or-treat, games, food trucks, a vendor market, and a bounce house for the kids.
Owl Creek Farms
Opening September 28, this family-friendly patch is open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For $10 per person (ages 3 and up), enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, potato launching, family games, and plenty of photo ops, everything you need for a fun fall outing.
Pumpkin Patches Outside San Antonio
While browsing for pumpkin patches to enjoy with the family this year, I discovered several charming spots just outside San Antonio. Each one offers its own mix of photo ops, fall activities, and small-town charm, perfect for a weekend adventure.
Float In (New Braunfels)
If I had to pick one spot we’ve visited for the best photo ops, it would be Float In in New Braunfels. We haven’t been since 2021, right before our New Jersey move but I’m excited to head back this year and see it all again.
The pumpkin patch opens October 4 and runs Fridays through Sundays through November 2, with plenty of fall fun: riverside photo backdrops, live music, local market vendors, kids’ activities, and all the seasonal eats and drinks you can imagine.
It’s a family- and dog-friendly event set along the Guadalupe River, which makes the scenery extra gorgeous for pictures, especially around golden hour. Tickets are available online, currently listed at $20 for general admission and $15 for students.
Winding Branch Ranch Pumpkin Patch (Bulverde)
This beloved farm and animal rescue transforms into a magical pumpkin patch every October, and it’s such a fun spot for families. Admission to the patch is free, but donations to support the rescued animals are always appreciated.
Expect plenty of fall charm: photo ops, meet-and-greet time with the friendly farm animals, lawn bowling, sensory play stations, and pumpkin-painting tables. On Friday nights the ranch hosts a Spooky Movie Series under the stars, a perfect way to wrap up the week. Tickets for movie nights are $7.50 per child and $9.50 per adult, and you can purchase them online ahead of time.
Bulverde Pumpkin Patch (Bulverde)
A $25 family season pass gets your whole crew unlimited visits all October, no matter how big your family is. The patch is open Oct 1–31, with hours that shift a bit between weekdays and weekends. You’ll find hayrides, games, tons of photo spots, local vendors and food trucks, and their famous Monster School Bus that the kids will talk about long after you leave.
Pipe Creek Pumpkin Patch (Pipe Creek)
Open weekends in October from 11–5:30, this spot is all about simple fall fun. Admission is $6 per person (little ones 2 and under are free) and includes plenty of kid-friendly activities. There’s a kiddie barrel train, pumpkin painting, and face painting for a small extra fee, plus a snack bar and farmers market to grab treats while you wander.
Devine acres (Devine)
This one is high on my pumpkin-patch bucket list for the season, and I can’t wait to finally check it out. They call their patch Fall Countryfest, and it sounds like a full day of fun. Tickets are $19.40 online or $23.95 at the gate, with kids 2 and under free.
Your ticket covers 50+ activities, think live music, goat races, a hayride, and even a flower field for photos. For the grown-ups there’s the Giggly Goat Wine & Beer Garden, but honestly I’m most excited for the apple-cider donuts and a milkshake to top it all off.
Sweet Berry Farms (Marble Falls)
Open Sept 20–Nov 2 (closed on Wednesdays), Sweet Berry Farm is all about pick-your-own fun. There’s no entry fee, you just pay for the activities you want to try. And there’s plenty to choose from: a giant Texas maze, bounce pillow, candy-corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin painting, and even friendly goats to feed and pet. Don’t skip the flower fields where you can pick your own blooms for a perfect fall bouquet.
Rockberry Ranch (Poteet)
Pumpkin Fest runs Sept 27–Nov 2 and is packed with family fun. Admission is $17.95 online ($22.95 at the gate), or grab a season pass for $35.95 ($39.95 at the gate), kids 2 and under are free.
You’ll find endless photo ops in the pumpkin and flower fields (pumpkins and flowers sold separately), plus baby animals, the Rockberry Barnyard & Petting Corral, wagon rides, jumping pillows, the Bee Train, wooden playscapes, and 25+ more attractions.
Mark your calendar for their special Pumpkin Play Day on October 13, featuring extra pumpkin-themed activities, treats, and even more photo opportunities.
Graff 7A Ranch (Hondo)
Open Sept 20–Nov 22 on weekends only, this spot is packed with fall fun. Admission is $20 per person (ages 3+), and tickets are sold onsite only.
Get lost in the 8-acre maze, zip down the Tres Toboggans or MatterCorn Slide Mountain, and hop on farm hayrides or the Double Barrel Train. Kids can explore Cowboy Ken’s Kiddie Korral, bounce around the hay bale jump, or visit Colin’s Cluckers and the goat walk. There are also plenty of games, Gaga ball pit, cornhole, tetherball, bubble buckets, and more, plus live music and dancing in the Dance Barn to round out the day.
