4-Day Branson Family Vacation Itinerary: Where to Stay, Eat & Explore
Our 4-day Branson family vacation guide covers the best places to stay, eat, and play with kids, plus tips for top attractions and easy meals.

Our Branson, Missouri Family Vacation Itinerary
We just returned home from our first family vacation as a family of SEVEN! I still can’t believe we’re a family of 7 now. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d have 5 children but here we are and I’m so excited I get to share my love of traveling with them.
When we were planning this trip, it was originally just going to be a small weekend getaway but when my dad drove to Texas from West Virginia to visit us, he was raving about “how amazing” Branson, MO was.
Had I heard of Branson, MO before? No
Was I curious about it? Absolutely. I love finding hidden gems, vacation destinations that are a little unique and most of all “family-friendly.”

Day 1: Travel Day
With seven of us now, flying adds up fast, so we decided of a road trip from San Antonio, Texas to Branson, Missouri was the way to go. It’s about an eleven hour drive (according to the GPS). Add in five kids, including a five-month-old who is still exclusively breastfed, and I knew those eleven hours would stretch out quickly. That’s why we planned front he start to spread the trip over at least two days.
We didn’t get out of the house and on the road our first day until early afternoon but since we were driving, it was nice not to rush. I thought the kids may nap once we got on the road… However, I was quickly reminded about the chaos that can be when traveling with 5 kids. We were on the road for a total of 15 minutes and our 4 year-old announced he felt sick, thankfully i had some throw up bags already stashed in the glove compartment and I’m so glad I did, just as I handed him the bag, he got sick right into the bag.

We made a quick pit stop to clean up, grab him some sprite & gatorade, toss the bag so it didn’t smell and got back on the road. I’ve linked them below for you, incase you need them too!

About three hours into the drive we hit Waco, and since visiting the Silos has always been on my bucket list, it felt like the perfect place to stretch our legs.
Unfortunately, by the time we rolled into town the Silos were already closed (they shut their doors at 6 p.m.). Instead, we made a little pivot and grabbed dinner at the Magnolia Table. It turned out to be the best kind of detour, you can read all about that experience here.

After dinner we hopped back on the road, determined to make it as far as we could. There were plenty of bathroom breaks along the way, of course, and the kids loved every stop at Buc-ee’s. If you haven’t been, consider this your sign, it’s anything but your average gas station.

That night we made it all the way to the Texas–Oklahoma border before starting the hunt for a hotel. I usually don’t book ahead on road trips. I like the flexibility to stop early or push a little farther, but this was the first time we actually struggled to find a room. With school about to start, it seemed like half the world had the same idea. We finally landed at a Best Western in Atoka just over the border in Oklahoma.

Mom Tip: I always look for hotels that include a free breakfast, it saves both time and money when you’re trying to get back on the road with a car full of kids.
Day 2: Travel Day, Arrival in Branson & Ozarker Lodge
Day two meant another travel day, but luckily we only had about four hours left before reaching Branson. We didn’t rush, after a free breakfast at the Best Western, I had to track down a Starbucks (because let’s be honest, moms of five-month-olds are not sleeping well in hotels, ha!).

Eat: Fuddruckers
Back on the road, our first Branson stop was Fuddruckers. When I used to vacation with my Mamaw and Papaw in Orlando, Florida it was one of my favorite places to eat, and I was so excited to share that nostalgia with the kids.
We devoured burgers and fries, then took a slow drive down the Branson Strip. It’s wild, one little road packed with attractions, lights, and family-friendly spots. We kept saying, “What did we just enter?!” Definitely a true vacation destination.
Stay: Ozarker Lodge
Since we hadn’t finalized our lodging for Branson until Day 3, I’d been eyeing a boutique hotel I found on Instagram, The Ozarker Lodge, as a possible one-night stay if we arrived early. And we did!

Pulling in, the retro vibe was instant. The lobby was cozy and welcoming, and check-in was a breeze. My husband crashed for a much-needed nap while I took the kids downstairs, where they had games set up for families. I treated myself to a second latte and soaked in the laid-back, vintage feel. At this point, every family vacation basically doubles as a coffee tour for me, and I’m not mad about it.
We were about ready to call it a night, after that late lunch/dinner at Fuddruckers, nobody was even thinking about food. But the kids suddenly remembered that my husband had promised them dessert since he’d vetoed milkshakes earlier. And let me tell you, my crew never forgets a dessert promise.
Eat: Dessert Detour: YOLO Rolled Ice Cream ( 2005 w 76 Country BLVD)
So off we went to the Branson Strip in search of something sweet. Our first plan was Cakes & Cream Fifties Diner, but when we pulled up, at 10 p.m., no less, the line was out the door. No way were we waiting with five kids that late.
We kept driving until we spotted the cutest little spot: YOLO Rolled Ice Cream. None of us had ever tried rolled ice cream before, and the kids were mesmerized watching it made right in front of them. Total win for a spontaneous late-night treat, and yes some the kids were in semi-pajamas at this point.

Day 3: Exploring Downtown Branson & the Titanic Museum
We started the morning with the Ozarker’s complimentary breakfast, simple but perfect for a travel day, with yogurts, muffins, and the usual quick bites. After we ate, I wandered back to the lobby for their signature s’mores latte, and it did not disappoint.
Check-out was at 11, so after we packed up we let the kids explore the Ozarker’s outdoor area for a bit. There was a little stream where they tossed rocks and a small “nature playground” with logs to climb and jump from, perfect for getting some energy out before the next adventure.
EAT: Mr. G’s Chicago Pizza & Pub
From there we headed to downtown Branson for lunch. While wandering the streets we stumbled across Mr. G’s Chicago Pizza & Pub and decided to give it a try. Such a good call, you really can’t go wrong with pizza when you’ve got a big family in tow!
Explore: Downtown Branson, Peter Engler Designs
After pizza we wandered through downtown Branson, popping into a few of the shops along the way. One that caught our eye, specifically my husbands, had a simple sign out front that read “Local Art,” with a smaller poster mentioning Peter Engler Designs and Pottery by Tracy Adams.
It wasn’t what I would call a kid-friendly spot, so before we stepped inside we had a quick chat with the kids about “looking with your eyes, not your hands.” The artwork was stunning, so much creativity in one space. I left with a gorgeous handmade coffee mug, and each of the kids picked out a little hand-carved wooden top as a special keepsake.
After exploring the local art shop, we headed back to the car for our next stop, the Titanic Museum.
Explore: Titanic Museum
The Titanic Museum was such a unique stop and definitely worth adding to your Branson itinerary. I’ll be sharing a full “mom-review” soon, but here’s a quick take: while younger kids (around 5 and under) can still enjoy the exhibits, the experience is really best for ages 6 and up. Our 7- and 9-year-olds were fascinated, reading the facts, testing their Titanic knowledge, and soaking up the history, while our 4- and 5-year-olds had fun but found the visit just a bit long.
Once we wrapped up at the Titanic Museum, we hit the road for the cabin but first… coffee.
Coffee Break: Expresso Branson
Every vacation is basically a little coffee tour for me, so we couldn’t resist stopping at Expresso Branson, the cutest drive-thru spot, for a latte before heading back to our cabin to relax. I ordered a Spirit of 76 Iced Latte which was dark, milk, and white chocolate with sea salt and it was delicious. My husband ordered the iced Galileo macchiato and he said it was also really good.

stay: Big Trout Lodge: Our Relaxing Branson Home Base
After our cafffeine stop it was time to check in at our rental home, at Branson Cedars. The house was tucked just outside of Branson, closer to Big Cedar area, in Ridgedale, giving us a peaceful spot to unwind while still being only a short drive from all the main attractions. This location is right beside Thunder Ridge Arena for their concerts too!

After the museum, we drove out to check in at our rental, Big Trout Lodge, in Branson Cedars Resort, just outside of town and close to Top of the Rock. This cozy log cabin was perfect for our crew: four bedrooms and four baths, a roomy upstairs loft with a foosball table the kids loved, and even a private hot tub. It sleeps up to 14 guests, we booked a larger space in case extended family could join (they couldn’t this time, but it still gave us plenty of room to spread out). It turned out to be the ideal spot to relax and unwind after busy Branson days.
One of our favorite perks: each night of your stay comes with free attraction tickets, which is such a fun bonus for families exploring Branson. They also offer a 5% military discount, making it an even better value. Big Trout Lodge turned out to be the ideal spot to relax and unwind after our busy Branson adventures.
Evening at the Cabin
After we got settled into the cabin, I made a quick grocery run into Hollister. I stopped first at Harter House Supermarket, but after a quick look around I decided to cross the highway to Country Mart, which had a much better selection for what we needed. I stocked up on groceries, headed back to Big Trout Lodge, and cooked a simple spaghetti dinner.
We ate out on the deck as the sun set, then ended the night with a relaxing soak in the hot tub before heading to bed, such a cozy way to kick off our stay.
Day 4: Exploring Branson Cedars & Dolly Parton Stampede
We started the morning with a cozy eggs-and-bacon brunch at the cabin. With a big family, I love booking places with a full kitchen, it saves money and lets us hang out together more without leaving. While I cooked and got the baby ready, the older kids enjoyed a splash in the hot tub and played a few games of football in the loft.

After brunch we set out to explore Branson Cedars, strolling down to the playground and pool area where the kids ran, climbed, and played a few rounds of horseshoes.
We headed back for light snacks, careful not to spoil appetites because we had Dolly Parton’s Stampede planned for dinner.
Dolly Parton Stampede
It was about a 25-minute drive from the cabin, so we left early and arrived nearly an hour before showtime. Live music filled the main area and kept the kids entertained until the doors opened. The dinner and show were a blast, highly recommended for all ages.
Day 5: Pancakes, Hot Tubs & Fritz Adventure Finale
We kicked off the morning with a homemade chocolate chip pancake breakfast on the back deck of the cabin, followed by a little hot-tub time. Since it was our final day to explore, we had a tough choice to make, there were still so many Branson attractions on our list.

Coffee Break: Table Rock Coffee Roaster
Before we headed to Fritz, I asked for a quick stop at Table Rock Coffee Roasters and ordered their Covfefe for a little caffeine boost before our big day of play.

Explore: Fritz Adventure
We sat down with the kids, shared a few options, and let them decide how to spend the day. Their pick: Fritz Adventure and it did not disappoint! The indoor ropes courses, climbing walls, and slides kept everyone happy and active for hours.
The kids had an absolute blast exploring Fritz Adventure. By about 3 p.m. they’d been climbing and zipping for hours and started getting hungry, so we decided to step out for a late lunch. (Fritz uses an armband system, so you can leave and return the same day which is such a great perk.)
Eat: BamYan Kabob: Taste of Persia
Rather than eat at the on-site café, we tried BamYan Kabob: Taste of Persia for something a little different. We shared a couple of rice-and-meat bowls (steak and chicken) and everything was so flavorful, the customer service was wonderful, too. We were the only diners when we arrived, with one other family joining later, so it felt relaxed and cozy and we didn’t have to fight a long line.
Evening at Fritz
After lunch we headed back to Fritz to finish the evening. The older two were thrilled to tackle the big outdoor zipline that soars across the parking lot, the perfect grand finale to our Branson adventure. They did the zipline course with my husband and it took at least 1.5 hours to complete, once you start the course you can’t stop but they had so much fun. While they were doing the zipline course, you already know what I’m going to say… I went up to the cafe and grabbed myself an iced coffee to make it through the evening.

I ordered a Mountain Top on the barista’s recommendation. It was tasty, but it didn’t quite top some of the other coffees I’d tried around town. Still, I’m not complaining, any delicious iced coffee while the kids play feels like a win.
Day 6: Depature & Return to Texas
On our last morning, we cleaned up the rental and packed the car. We were so sad to leave but excited for the memories we’d made and already dreaming about our next trip back to explore even more.

We drove through the night and finally pulled into our driveway around 1 a.m., tired but happy to be home.
Final Thoughts on Our Branson Adventure
This trip was everything we’d hoped for, a mix of kid-friendly adventures, cozy family moments, and plenty of memories we’ll talk about for years. From exploring downtown Branson and the Titanic Museum to laughing our way through Fritz Adventure, every stop reminded us how special it is to pause everyday life and explore somewhere new together.
