Cozy Christmas Bathroom Decor Ideas

Have you ever though about bringing your Christmas decor into the bathroom?

Over the years, since having kids, I’ve noticed my holiday decor has gradually spread to areas of the house I never imagined decorating.

Spaces like the bathrooms, hallways, and even the laundry room have become opportunities to add a little festive cheer. It’s funny how something as simple as a sprig of greenery or a holiday-scented candle can bring so much joy to everyday spaces.

I’ve come to love the challenge of finding small, creative ways to make every corner of our home feel magical, especially during the holidays—it’s all about creating those little moments of wonder for my family.

Why Decorate Your Bathroom for Christmas?

I originally started decorating our bathroom with small festive touches, like a holiday soap dispenser and maybe a cheerful hand towel. Over time, I realized how even these small simple additions could make the space feel more inviting and connected to the rest of our holiday decor.

It’s a small effort that brings a big impact to the house, especially for guest, and now it’s one of my favorite little traditions during the holidays.

Simple Festive Touches for a Cozy Christmas Bathroom

Decorating your bathroom for Christmas doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Start with small, festive touches like I mentioned above, a cheerful hand towel or a holiday-themed soap dispenser to add a bit of seasonal charm.

Here are some more ideas to inspire you to create a warm and inviting holiday look in your bathroom!

1. Hand Towels

Hand towels are an easy and affordable way to bring holiday decor into your bathroom. With so many themes to choose from, you can find the perfect design to match your style. Some of my favorite places to shop for festive hand towels are HomeGoods, Target, and even Walmart, which has some great options this year. Here are a few of my top picks for the season!

2. Soap Dispensers

Every bathroom needs soap, so why not make it festive with a holiday-themed soap dispenser? To take it a step further, choose a holiday-scented soap to bring in those cozy, seasonal vibes. My favorite holiday soaps are from Bath & Body Works, but you can also find great options at Target and Walmart to suit any style or budget.

3. Garland

Garland might not be the first thing that comes to mind for bathroom decor, but it can make a charming addition. I’ve seen some lovely examples of people draping garland over mirrors or even using holiday swag it around light fixtures to bring holiday cheer to their bathrooms.

4. Rugs

While some people avoid rugs in the bathroom, I love the cozy vibes they bring to the space. Adding a holiday-themed rug near your bathtub, sink, or toilet is an easy way to infuse a little extra festive cheer into your bathroom decor.

5. Shower Curtain

The shower curtain is often an overlooked part of bathroom decor, but it’s a fantastic way to make a bold statement—especially in a full bath.

Last year, I added a shower curtain with evergreen trees to the kids’ bathroom, and they absolutely loved it! It was the perfect way to bring in festive color and fun while transforming the space for the holidays.

6. Wall Art

This year, I’ve really embraced seasonal wall art, and it’s been such a fun way to refresh my home. I’ve especially loved swapping out the art in our guest bathroom to match each season—it’s such a simple update that keeps the space feeling fresh and festive. Right now, a charming Christmas Highland Cow is adding a touch of holiday cheer to the walls in our bathroom! The last few months I’ve found my favorite pieces at Kirkland’s.

7. Holiday Scents

If you have counter space, a holiday-scented candle is a wonderful way to bring in seasonal cheer and create a cozy atmosphere. But if you’re like me and short on counter space, Bath & Body Works has you covered with their Wallflowers—plus, they also have festive, themed Wallflower plugins that add both fragrance and holiday charm to your space!

My favorite holiday scents from Bath & Body Works are Fresh Balsam, Frosted Cranberry, Cinnamon Caramel Swirl, and Sugared Snickerdoodle.

8. Decor Accessories

You can also incorporate simple themed accessories such as a bottle brush Christmas tree, a Santa figurine, reindeer, or a nutcracker for added charm.

This year, I decorated my bathroom shelves for Christmas with bottle brush trees and a wooden village.

Last year, I used a tray and had mini flocked Christmas trees on the kids counter with vintage bells and their soap dispenser.

9. Festive Toilet Paper Wraps

Add a playful and unexpected touch to your bathroom by wrapping your toilet paper rolls in festive napkins! This simple DIY is an easy way to disguise plain rolls and bring a little extra holiday charm to the space.

Choose napkins with seasonal patterns like snowflakes, candy canes, or plaid to tie in with your bathroom’s Christmas decor. It’s a fun and creative detail that guests are sure to notice!

The Final Touch

Creating a cozy and festive bathroom for Christmas doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. With simple touches like holiday hand towels, scented candles, and a bit of greenery, you can transform even the smallest bathroom into a warm, inviting space.

Whether it’s for your family or guests, these ideas add a special holiday charm that ties your home together. I hope these tips inspire you to bring a little Christmas magic into your bathroom this season!
